People in contemporary society are easily swayed by photographs in the media. These moments in time in individuals’ alleged 'picture perfect’ lives don’t often portray all the truth; such images may not illustrate the bigger picture – the pain, sorrow and hardship unseen behind the two-dimensional surface of the photograph. My artwork emphasises the need to explore the deeper story.
Consider the influence of media in our society. Are we, as an audience and as consumers of the media, well-informed? Do we only see a subjective or objective point of view? How do Ashleigh Scott and Mathew Jones respond to the media’s definition of 'truth’?
