Known as the Yiribana Gallery, this space presents a selection of works from our Indigenous Australian collection.

Our Asian galleries are spread over two floors. Within them are displayed some of the finest moments in art in the rich history of Asia.

One of the finest displays of Australian art anywhere, featuring some of the Gallery’s most famous and popular works and artists.

The Gallery has the most comprehensive representation of contemporary art in the country from the 1960s to the present day, and a changing selection is on display in the contemporary galleries.

Within these magnificent rooms, you’ll find key names in art history, such as Picasso, Bacon, Van Gogh, Bronzino, Burne-Jones, Canaletto, Claude, Constable, Delacroix, Lord Leighton, Reynolds and Rubens, among others.

The modern gallery is currently showing an important new acquisition – Jazz by Henri Matisse – alongside works by other major European modernist artists in the Gallery’s collection.

The photography gallery is dedicated to a changing display of works from the Gallery’s collection of photographs, which covers from the inception of the medium in the 19th century until now.
