Over the course of three weeks Soda_Jerk will perform three multi-channel live video essays that address distinct fields of research.
The Carousel (2011) uses cultural theories of hauntology to re-envisage cinema as a burial crypt, while Terror Nullius (2014) excavates the horror at the heart of Australian identity and cinematic mythology. The third video essay performance, Vertical Cut (2014), is a reply to minimalism framed by the death of Cuban-American artist Ana Mendieta.
Soda_Jerk is an Australian two-person art collective from Sydney.
