The legendary Australian actor Jack Thompson will read some of The Campfire Yarns of Henry Lawson and sign autographed copies of his new CD recording afterwards. Jack Thompson is recording all the great Australian writers for the publisher Fine Poets. His new recording of Henry Lawson short stories has just been released. Jack Thompson is one of Australia's most loved and respected actors. Best known for his role as Clancy in The Man From Snowy River, he has appeared in over 70 productions. Son of the poet and broadcaster John Thompson, Jack learnt the poems of Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson as a schoolboy. Among the stories Jack will read is The Drover's Wife, considered a seminal moment in the history of Australian short fiction. Lawson wrote of the hardship of the people on the land but many of his stories are based on comic experiences. Jack will read under John Longstaff's portrait of Henry Lawson.
