Rupert Bunny was above all a master colourist – from the soft tonalities of his early pastorals to the vibrant Fauve-inspired palette of his later work. This half-day forum will explore chromatic themes in Bunny’s work, from both an art-historical and a technical perspective. Deborah Edwards, exhibition curator, and Simon Ives, conservator, will discuss Bunny’s virtuoso use of colour in terms of aesthetics and meaning, pigments and palette. Please note: Due to unforeseen circumstances, John Gage will be unable to attend the forum as advertised.
