Angry Penguins of the night
Exploding onto the staid Australian art scene, the Angry Penguins championed the cause of modernism and were determined to shake Australia out of its postwar complacency and isolationism. These young painters, influenced by Surrealism and Expressionism, were the rebels of their day. To complement the exhibition Sidney Nolan: Retrospective.
