Special-event access programs

To celebrate the International Day of People with a Disability (3 December),
the Gallery will have the following programs.

Tuesday 1 December 
For people who are blind or have low vision

Wednesday 9 December
Auslan-interpreted events

  • 6.30pm - Art After Hours celebrity talk
    Annabel Crabb, ABC online chief political writer (free)
  • 7.15pm - Tour of the exhibition Rupert Bunny: artist in Paris
    (free with exhibition entry: adult $15, concession $10)

Services for the hard of hearing

  • Audio-induction loop in the Domain Theatre, Level 3, for all lectures and films
  • Portable FM-transmitter system available for all guided tours, on request

Audio-described tours

  • For people who are blind or vision impaired
  • Tours of the permanent collection, where additional commentary is provided to narrate the visual elements of artworks
  • Offered from time to time

Physical access

  • Four Dedicated parking spaces for people with disabilities at the front of the Gallery and two at the rear
  • Permanent ramp at the rear of the Gallery leading directly to exhibition space, Lower Level 1
  • Lifts to all exhibition spaces
  • Limited number of wheelchairs available
