What’s on for teachers

The Gallery offers intensive and inspiring teacher professional development programs catering specifically for K–6 and 7–12 educators and trainee teachers. Relevant links to the Visual Arts syllabus are incorporated into each program, which includes lectures, discussions and workshops by educators, historians, artists and critics.

Book a staff development day (Years K–6)

An opportunity for the whole staff to explore the possibilities of teaching and learning in the Visual Arts and other Key Learning Areas, using the Gallery’s collection as a starting point. Includes creative strategies for looking at art and programming ideas for the classroom, incorporating a blend of specially designed programs, tours, lectures and practical workshops. Themes and focus areas can be negotiated, enabling aspects of the day to be tailor-made.
