Navigating art: moving between cultures
Visual art represents and reflects a culture and in turn a culture influences and inspires visual art. Explore the Gallery’s collection and the relationship between art and cultures over time and history. Uncover the ways Chinese art and culture has contributed to Australia.
Artist workshops
Surrounded by artworks in the Asian galleries, students are tutored in traditional art by Asian artists in a workshop of your choosing. The half-hour workshop is combined with a half-hour Navigating art tour.

Practise styles of writing with brush and ink from ancient pictograms to free-flowing cursive expression.
Spirit of the brush
Learn the techniques of brush and ink as expressed in Chinese mountain landscapes and Japanese Zen painting.
