Limited access to the Gallery’s collection
and changed entry procedures

Wednesday 12 November – Friday 19 December 2008

Due to the replacement of the Gallery’s escalators and refurbishment of the Domain Theatre, there will be no access to lower level 2, contemporary art and lower level 3 Yiribana Gallery and the education entrance from inside the Gallery building.

As a result, when arriving and leaving the Gallery, the education entrance can only be accessed from outside the building via the external entry door in the education group meeting area, on the eastern side of the Gallery.

See education entrance information sheet (PDF, 40 KB).

For the duration of this period, all K-12 education groups:

  • with bags, lunch packages or other items that require cloaking must arrive and depart the Gallery via the education entrance.
  • without bags, lunch packages or other items that require cloaking must arrive and depart the Gallery directly via the public entrance at the front.

Please consider this information and its implications if you are intending to visit the Monet and the Impressionists exhibition during this time.

The Gallery strongly encourages all K-12 education groups to consider visiting this important exhibition in Term 4 between Monday 13 October and Friday 11 November 2008 to minimise any excursion disruption and to maximise excursion time and outcomes.
