ARTEXPRESS Teachers Day offers presentations by students, teachers, artists and gallery professionals illuminating the connections between their complimentary practices. This professional development program investigates ARTEXPRESS as a nexus between visual arts education and the professional practice of the artworld and aims to engage with challenging issues, stimulate new ideas, and enhance the development of classroom strategies and resources.

Cost: $85, AGS members $77, tertiary students $42.50 (includes morning tea/lunch and resources)

Leslie Rice, tattoo artist and painter, finalist 2008 Archibald prize and winner 2007 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize.
2pmBODY OF WORK FOCUS: DOCUMENTED FORMS
Overview of four Documented Forms in this year’s exhibition, highlighting the possibilities of this exciting expressive form. Includes presentation by ARTEXPRESS 09 exhibiting student Benjamin Radburn, Moruya High School about his work, Passed Quarantine, with Helen Pinchen, head teacher, visual arts, Moruya High School.
2:30pm FROM ARTEXPRESS TO ARCHIBALD
On the day of the announcement, get a 'sneak peek' of the 2009 Archibald Prize. Includes an introduction to and discussion with the winning artist.
