Brett Whiteley Studio
The Brett Whiteley Studio at 2 Raper Street, Surry Hills, was the workplace and home of Australian artist Brett Whiteley (1939–1992).
Now a gallery and studio museum managed by the Art Gallery of NSW, it offers a rare and intimate insight into the art and life of one of our most celebrated and intensely creative artists.
Experience the atmosphere of Whiteley’s studio with his unfinished paintings, art equipment, reference books and graffiti wall covered with quotes and images. Memorabilia such as photographs, objects, postcards, his music collection and sketchbook is on display, revealing his inspirations and art practice, and there are changing exhibitions of Whiteley’s works.
