About
Gold anchor Chelsea vases often adopt an essentially pear-shaped form. Normally these have elaborate handles and lavish painted decoration. This more restrained design remained popular and was repeated at Derby c1770 with applied garlands in biscuit porcelain. See also L2012.107.
