  • About

Olio was a strong meat broth or stew of Spanish origin. Small olio tureens were often supplied without matching porcelain stands, but were possibly accompanied at table by silver stands. Naturalistic flower painting of this kind, inspired by botanical prints, was a Du Paquier innovation of the late 1720s. The fish handles derive from Chinese porcelain.
