The inscribed characters on the side suggested the seal is engraved by Qian Shoutie,
钱瘦铁(1897-1967), native of Wuxi of Jiangsu province. He was a painter and calligrapher, and seal carver, one of the founders of China Painting Society. He is one of the Three Irons of Jiangnan, the other two are Wu Changshuo as "Kutie" and Wang Guanshan as "Bingtie".
