About
Wang Jianshan was born in Guiyang. He was a graduate of Xian Teachers College in 1983, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1986. He was a member of the Chinese Graphic Artists Association and the Buddhist/Taoist Scripture Research Society of China and was deputy head of the Guiyang representative branch of the same society.
The works of Wang Jianshan have been exhibited overseas, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany, the United States of America and Japan. He has been represented in a number of exhibitions at home: 1987 in Beijing and 1988 in Shanghai. His works were included in the 7th and 10th National Art Exhibitions, and he obtained an award as a representative of Guizhou. His work appears in 10 different publications. Beijing has published a catalogue of his work. He has been represented on Beijing Central Radio and Guizhou television. He is introduced in 2 different dictionaries of contemporary artists in China. Wang Jianshans works are in permanent collection of China Art Gallery and in the Minorities Cultural Palace. -
