Further information

Born in Aichi Prefecture and a graduate of the Aichi Educational University, Takabatake now resides in Gifu.

Takabatake works as a graphic designer and book illustrator as well as producing prints. His droll poster-coloured cartoons are light-hearted assessments of the urban working-person's life. His interest is to give some simple, humorous relief to the mundaneness of everyday life. With regard to this print he shows Thursday man who works the hardest on Thursdays - after that he can rest.
