Kinoshita was born in Fukuoka and completed graduate school at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music. He now lives in Tokyo, producing his delicate etchings, often combined with aquatint. In this print he imagined the paper to be a wall on which he drew. For him as an urban dweller the urban bonsai means the landscape and objects around him in the city.
