About
‘Xie is another artist of the influential Shanghai School. A native of Yu Yao in Zhejiang Province, he graduated from the Shanghai College of Fine Arts. His early work differs from that of his middle age when his style came under the influence of Wu Changshuo (cats. 21 and 22) and Qi Baishi.’
