About
The Kinkôzan was a family of Kyoto potters established during the Edo period. In the Meiji period Kinkôzan Sôbee VI began using the Satsuma ware technique. His son Kinkôzan VII continued this work, actively exploring new designs for export ware and participating in international exhibitions.
The Asian Collections, AGNSW, 2003, pg.267.
Both Kinkôzan Sôbê VI (1822-1884) and Kinkôzan Sôbê VII (1866-1927) were active in the late 19th century. It is not sure which artist made this work.
