Godfrey Miller was the subject of a retrospective exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 1996, which emphasized his importance as an artist and teacher in Sydney from the 1940s to 60s. He is particularly acclaimed for his draughtsmanship, especially for his drawings of the figure, in which he applied his concentrated and meticulous approach to form and composition.
