About
Maurice Guillaux was a French aviator who made Australia's first air mail delivery in July 1914, from Melbourne to Sydney in a Bleriot monoplane. The journey took 2 ½ days with actual flying time of 9 ¼ hours. Cazneaux has captured the excitement of the occasion as the plane flies over the heads of the assembled spectators.
