About
Born in Acheng, Heilongjiang, in 1956, Shen Shaoming was trained at the Fine Arts Dept. of Ha'erbin Institute of Education. Before migrating to Australia in the late 1980s, Shen had exhibited his works at many museums such as the National Art Gallery in Beijing, and had received national and international awards for his woodblock prints.
The work, in his characteristic style of rich colouring, depicts farmers working in the field in northern China.
