Video art workshop
Explore video art techniques with video artist Sam Smith
Join acclaimed Australian artist Sam Smith for a hands-on video art workshop. Participants will join Sam in learning some key video art techniques and how to apply special effects using Final Cut Pro and Adobe® After Effects®. The workshop will look at green screen compositing, motion tracking and basic editing to create a simple video. At the end of the day participants will be able to take their work home and later upload their own projects to a special online channel. The day will also include tours of the exhibitions Sam Smith: Cameraman and Unguided tours: Anne Landa Award for video and new media arts 2011.
Sam Smith has long been interested in the capacity of moving images to manipulate our sense of time and space and to absorb viewers into fictitious realms.
