A lecture in Spanish on Picasso and his time

In this lecture, Marc Barrio Gazquez addresses Picasso’s career and why he is considered the most important artist of the 20th century, emphasising his technical achievements not only in painting but also in sculpture, engraving and ceramics. He also looks at the origin of the collection from the Musée National Picasso in Paris and analyses key pieces included in the exhibition Picasso: masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris.

Marc Barrio Gazquez, who has an MA, Museum Studies from New York University, manages cultural affairs at the Consulate-General of Spain in Sydney. He studied art history in his native Barcelona and has worked in museums and cultural institutions in the United States and Spain.
