About face with Picasso

He said, ‘All artists borrow, great artists steal’ ... a tall ask for students, but today we start with a Picasso and see just how far we can take it away from him. Juliet will show you how to develop a work until it becomes its own self, not a mere copy.

Please bring a canvas, brushes, a range of paints, a palette and an apron. Paper, charcoal, pencils and water buckets will be provided.

Tiepolo and Pontormo

Using the works of Tiepolo & Pontormo as inspiration, Juliet Holmes à Court will teach students how to adapt a classical painting into a contemporary work of art.

Students will retain the original composition but modify other elements within the painting to transport the painting from the past to the present.

Please bring a canvas, brushes, a range of paints, a palette and an apron. Paper, charcoal, pencils and water buckets will be provided.
