About face with Picasso
He said, ‘All artists borrow, great artists steal’ ... a tall ask for students, but today we start with a Picasso and see just how far we can take it away from him. Juliet will show you how to develop a work until it becomes its own self, not a mere copy.
Please bring a canvas, brushes, a range of paints, a palette and an apron. Paper, charcoal, pencils and water buckets will be provided.

Tiepolo and Pontormo
Using the works of Tiepolo & Pontormo as inspiration, Juliet Holmes à Court will teach students how to adapt a classical painting into a contemporary work of art.
Students will retain the original composition but modify other elements within the painting to transport the painting from the past to the present.
Please bring a canvas, brushes, a range of paints, a palette and an apron. Paper, charcoal, pencils and water buckets will be provided.

There are no polite, placid still life paintings in this class today! Juliet will encourage and show students how to paint something more akin to a ‘wild life’.
Please bring: 1 large canvas, brushes (including wide house painting brushes), range of acrylic paints, a palette and apron.
