New Year’s Buddhist blessing

Welcome the New Year with a Buddhist blessing and drum performance

Join the abbess and venerables from Nan Tien Temple to welcome the New Year with a blessing ceremony followed by a seasonal drum performance by the Buddha’s Light International Association (Sydney) Young Adult Division. Take a moment to pay respect to family, friends and ancestors and wish for good fortune in the year ahead.

Nan Tien or 'Southern Paradise’ Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere located in Wollongong. It has many branches including the Buddha’s Light International Association (Sydney) located in Chinatown.

This event is part of the 2012 City of Sydney Chinese New Year Festival, celebrating the Year of the Dragon.
