Musical tribute to David Aspden
The music that most influenced the artist
Enjoy a musical tour of the music that most influenced Aspden, put together by two of his his close confidants.
Geoff Macklin, an artist who was very close to Aspden and knew his musical interests very well, and Danny Ma, an architect with whom Aspden used to discuss music, are creating a compilation of some of Aspden’s favourite jazz pieces – the ones that particularly inspired his painting practice. This compilation will be played in the exhibition, allowing visitors to make their own connections between Aspden’s musical tastes and his artworks.
