Live music with Warren Fahey and the Larrikins
Yarns, bush poetry and songs
Warren Fahey (AM) has been collecting, writing about and performing Australian bush songs for over 40 years. His group The Larrikins approach the songs and music in such a way as to make it relevant to the 21st century whilst retaining its traditional integrity.
Their latest album, released by ABC Music, is titled The Australian Bush Orchestra. In today’s performance they celebrate the Gallery’s collection of 19th century artworks by evoking the musical spirit reflected in the paintings depicting colonial life.
