HSC teachers day 2014

For teachers from low SES school communities

The Gallery invites teachers from low socio-economic status school communities to participate in a free HSC teachers study day. This day will focus on both components of the Visual Arts written examination, specifically addressing and investigating questions from the 2014 HSC paper. It will also familiarise teachers with the Gallery’s collection as a valuable resource for the Stage 6 Syllabus.

This year, teachers will also have an opportunity to explore the exhibition Pop to popism.

Welcome and introduction

Louise Halpin, the Gallery’s coordinator of outreach programs, will use examples from the Gallery’s collection, to lead a discussion of the 2014 HSC Visual Arts 2014 written paper in front of the works themselves

Leeanne Carr, the Gallery’s coordinator of secondary education programs, will discuss approaches to Sections 1 and 2 of the HSC Visual Arts 2014 written paper
