Gillian Minervini in conversation with John Kaldor

In creating the colourful street banners for Art & About’s Banner Gallery, designer Analiese Cairis was inspired by the work of Bauhaus colour theorist Johannes Itten. A student of Itten himself, the Banner Gallery’s artistic advisor, John Kaldor, has long been interested in colour. For over 40 years, he has collected numerous contemporary artworks and produced over 25 major public art projects, many of which explore the richness of colour.
Surrounded by the colourful works in the John Kaldor Family Collection at the Art Gallery of NSW, join the creative director/producer of Art & About, Gillian Minervini, and John Kaldor, in a discussion about colour in art and this year’s Banner Gallery project.
