Framed: a focus on gardens
[CANCELLED]
Botanical photography workshop
In this practical photography workshop, running over two consecutive Sundays, Carlos Thomas will teach some basics of photography: different camera functions, lighting, composition, depth-of-field and techniques in creating an aesthetic ‘fine art’ photograph.
After a brief introduction at the Gallery, the class will go on-location to the Royal Botanic Garden to photograph the beautiful spring flora.
Whether you have a digital SLR, a camera phone, or a simple point-and-shoot, Carlos will give hands-on instruction to help you capture those magical shots.
Carlos Thomas is a professional photographer and teacher and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and exuberance to this workshop.
Please wear comfortable footwear and sun-protective clothing.
Please bring: your camera, sunscreen, water, lunch (or buy from the Gallery), an umbrella (preferably white), a fully charged battery and an extra if you have one. A monopod or tripod is optional.
