Euraba Artists and Papermakers talk
Go behind the scenes with an artists collective
Join the Euraba Artists and Papermakers for a talk in the middle of the hang for their upcoming show at Boomalli Gallery, Leichhardt. It really doesn’t get more behind the scenes than this!
Hear from these Goomeroi women from the Boggabilla and Toomelah communities in North Western NSW, including several of the founding members of the group. In this rare event with many of the artists together in Sydney, you can get the inside information from Aunties May Hinch, Joy Duncan and Adrienne Duncan. They will share their stories – from the starting of Euraba and how and why the organisation came about to how they make the paper that more and more artists are choosing to use, to the creation of their own beautiful works on and with the paper. Marlene Hinch will speak about her exhibition From my country and Stella O’Halloran and her daughter Thelma Bartman will talk and preview their exhibition which opens on the Friday evening.
You’ll then get the chance to work with the paper yourself as the artists guide you over nibbles and a glass of wine.
