Dance performance

On the last hour of the last day...

At the closing of the Taking form exhibition, artist Agatha Gothe-Snape will perform the movement score that is the basis for her new work Inexhaustible present.

Gothe-Snape’s collaborator in this work was Brooke Stamp, who developed the choreography and score. The resulting performance draws on a vocabulary of ordinary gestures, recalling aspects of minimalist choreography in the 1960s.

Gothe-Snape performed the work privately in the gallery during the installation period, capturing her shadow on video as it moved in the brightly coloured glow of a rotating theatre light. The resulting footage is presently on display in the exhibition, and will be replaced by a live public performance of the work on the last hour of the last day, before it disappears from view.
