Concert: American music and art

With Simon Tedeschi and Sally Whitwell

Celebrate masterpieces of American music and art at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Renowned pianists Simon Tedeschi and Sally Whitwell will celebrate American composition past and present with the enchanting music of the great George Gershwin and iconic minimalist Phillip Glass.

Arguably Australia’s greatest exponent of Gershwin’s music, Simon Tedeschi’s two CDs of Gershwin’s greats have been met with great critical and popular acclaim.

Sydney pianist Sally Whitwell burst onto the scene with her ground-breaking and ARIA-winning recording, Mad Rush, featuring intimate interpretations of Phillip Glass’s finest solo piano music.

The performance will be recorded for ABC Classic FM to be broadcast on Sunday 9 February at 2pm.
