Special lecture: Cervantes and Renaissance art CANCELLED
Vicente Pérez de León, senior lecturer in Spanish at the School of Languages and Linguistics, University of Melbourne, explains Cervantes’ narrative Don Quixote in light of the most relevant artistic techniques of his period through the analysis of works by El Greco, Angolo del Moro and Velázquez among others.
By using multiple disciplines and approaches, and by contextualising artistic techniques and literature, this talk will contribute to a better understanding of Cervantes’ novel and the artistic reality of his times.
