ArtBar: Spyglass Gypsies

Guitar, accordion, clarinet and double bass

Harking back to the speakeasy clubs of the 1920s and 1930s, Spyglass Gypsies faithfully recreate the sounds of the Parisian ‘hot clubs’, in particular the stylings of gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France.

Combining traditional ‘Manouche’ repertoire with tasteful originals and gypsy-influenced modern classics, Spyglass Gypsies deliver an energetic and playful performance, displaying all the subtleties and nuances of a highly communicative and intuitive ensemble, while still retaining the fire and passion of the gypsy jazz style.
