Armchair travel: Cyprus, Rhodes and Crete

With Christopher Allen

Christopher Allen, art critic, art historian and author, takes you on an armchair journey to the islands associated with the Greek gods Aphrodite and Zeus: Cyprus, Rhodes and Crete.

Explore the art, architecture, myth and history of these eastern Mediterranean islands located at the crossroads of civilisation, from the Minoan period to Classical Greek and Roman times, from the Byzantine emperors to the Knights of St John, and from the Venetians to the British.

Christopher will lead the Art Gallery Society of NSW tour Islands of Aphrodite and Zeus in September 2013. Find out more
