The Brett Whiteley Studio provides a unique space where students can gain a personal insight into Australian painter Brett Whiteley. Displays of the artist’s sketchbooks, materials, personal memorabilia and music reveal his inspirations and illustrate his art practice. The Studio is exclusively open to schools on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Step into the creative hands of a practising artist and be inspired to look at and think about art through the eyes of an artist. Our engaging and skillful artist educators are professional artists working across a range of artistic disciplines. Let them take you on an art journey using artist-devised experiences to stimulate critical and creative thinking and imaginative response.

Discover the artist and his studio and explore the works on display. Use Brett Whiteley as a focus for a case study discussion. Explore his body of work, artmaking practice and the artist’s relationship to his subject, his audience and the outside world.
