I explore the rebirth of nature's textures transformed by heat - a kiln, a backyard fire - to highlight internal tensions. My bush childhood gave me companionship and a realisation of interdependence within the natural world. Sepia ink evokes mystery and memory. Assembled, recycled leaves, grass, twigs and earth (re)present the beauty of even the burnt, cast-off detritus of nature.
