Certainly one of the most popular Australian television dramas to hit our screens in recent years has been Offspring. Hear from head writer Debra Oswald, the creator of your favourite characters Nina and Patrick. Just as a portrait artist develops a persona with paint, writers craft characters with words. See such characterisation in action in the Tim Robbins’ satire Bob Roberts, which will launch our Portraits film series tonight. With hits like Capote and Broken flowers showing in coming weeks, the series will present intimate portraits of central characters in feature films.
