Position No. 09/GS7174 Permanent (38 hours per week)The Art Gallery of NSW is seeking to fill the permanent position of Team Leader, Gallery Services. DutiesThe position is responsible for co-ordinating the daily provision of gallery services to patrons including customer service and emergency response and will also be required to lead and supervise Gallery Officers, perform the role of Senior Manager on weekends and also provide support for afterhours functions. Salary packageValued at up to $93,144 p.a. including salary ($70,874 - $72,952), plus annualised penalty rates (from $19,617 to $20,192 p.a.) and employer’s contribution to superannuation. Selection criteria- Demonstrated supervisory and performance management experience.
- Significant understanding and experience with roster systems and software. Keyboard and computer literacy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills including an ability to write succinct policies,procedures and general reports.
- Experience in monitoring large crowds and supervising security, evacuation and emergency procedures; liaising with Local, State and Federal Police, the Fire Brigade and the Department of Premier & Cabinet regarding VIP visits.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Security Industry Act, Child Protection and OH&S legislation. Understanding of the law and powers of arrest.
- Experience in fire prevention and a working knowledge of fire fighting equipment.
- Must possess a current Class 1 (a) and (c) Security Licence under the Security Industry Act 1997 and Class C driver’s licence.
- Ability to work a flexible roster including regular weeknights and weekends.
NotesSuccessful applicants will be required to work a seven-day shift roster including Wednesday evening work and regular overtime.
