EXHIBITIONS
What's On - A summary of exhibitions and events that are on today and tomorrow. Clicking on an exhibition or event title displays information on the same page. This is so that many items can be explored quickly, without having to keep returning to this page. However, if there are links in this information (e.g. education programmes for an exhibition), clicking on them will open a new page. Because What's On is a special page, relating to both exhibitions and events, it has its own banner heading.
Exhibitions Calendar - Tells you what exhibitions will be on for any future date (according to currently available information).
Current - Lists all exhibitions on now, each with a thumbnail images and short description. Click for more details. This is the default page if "EXHIBITIONS" itself is clicked.
Coming - Lists all (confirmed) coming exhibitions, each with a short description. Click for more details.
Past - Lists all previous exhibitions (from May 2000), grouped according to the years they closed. Click for more details.
Buy tickets - Links to the Shop section, where you can purchase tickets for selected exhibitions, online.

EVENTS
What's On - See under 'EXHIBITIONS'.
Calendar - Tells you what events will be on for any future date (according to currently available information)
Art After Hours, Tours, Lectures, Courses, Symposia, Films etc. - Each page lists coming events in that category. Click for more details. Some events may appear in more than one category (e.g. films screened on Wednesday evenings - Art After Hours).
Accessible Programmes - Information on events and programmes for people with disabilities. See also "Access" under "ABOUT US".
Bookings - How to make bookings for events that require it. Some events can also be booked on-line (details on the relevant event pages).

COLLECTION
Most of the pages in this section provide ways to access the Art Gallery's collection database:
Browse - Divides the collection into groups and sub-groups according to geographical/cultural origin, period and/or media. Note: Many these groups overlap. E.g. You could find the same works by choosing "Western > Contemporary" or "Contemporary > Western".
Simple Search - Most searches are done by artist name and/or title of work.
Advanced Search - Extra fields are provided to enable searching by date, media category and credit line. If you know the work's accession number, you can enter it here.

Other pages give information related to the Gallery's collection:
Study Room, Lloyd Rees Sketchbooks, Collection Benefactors, Image Reproduction, Brett Whiteley Studio, Provenance, Copyright Notice

RESEARCH
This section is devoted to the Art Gallery's Research Library and Archive. It features the Library's complete catalogue and a database of finalists and winners of the Gallery's art prizes.
It also has a Reference Enquiry Form, for researchers living outside the Sydney metropolitan area.

EDUCATION
The first three sub-sections (Years K-6, Years 7-12 and Tertiary Education) list general, collection-based programs and services for all levels of formal education.
The Temporary Exhibition Programs page provides a summary of and links to education programmes (years K-12) for major temporary exhibitions.
The rest of this section provides information on resources for teachers and lecturers (e.g. Professional Development), as well as actual resources (e.g. Online Education Kits and myVirtualGallery).

SUPPORT US
This section is concerned with attracting support for the Art Gallery, in the forms of benefaction and sponsorship.

MEMBERSHIP
This section is the on-line home of the Art Gallery Society of NSW. Learn about the benefits of membership or, if you already belong, get up-to-date information on special programs for members.

PRESS OFFICE
Information on programs, particularly exhibitions, for the benefit of journalists. Current Releases are listed first, followed by Coming and Archives (Going back to 2000).

SHOP
There are two ways to find a product to buy: by searching by name or by browsing through the Categories (Education Kits, Merchandise, Prints & Posters, Publications and Videos).
This section also contains a link to the Venue Hire subsection.

FOR KIDS
Many of the pages in this section gather information from other parts of the site that would be of particular interest to children, such as performances and workshops.

ABOUT US
This is the largest and most complex section, in terms of pages. It contains general information about the Gallery (e.g. opening hours) and various ways to make contact.
One very interesting subsection is Frequently Asked Questions. If you've ever wondered how the Archibald Prize works, when the Gallery was built or where the money comes from for works of art in the collection, this is the place to go. You can even submit your own questions to be answered.
