1995 The Gallery's first site was created at: www.ozemail.com.au/~agnsw. It contained basic, general information only. 1997 The Gallery's first site at its present URL (www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au) was launched. It was created, as a form of sponsorship-in-kind, by the company Spike. Unfortunately, being static HTML meant that the site had to be managed by a series of email requests to the company, which often resulted in out-of-date pages. 1999 The Gallery hired Squiz.net to build a custom CMS (content management system) to control a new-look site, which was launched in 2000. 2002 The site was migrated, with essentially the same design, to the new MySource open-source* CMS. E-commerce functionality (via the VSA e-commerce project) was introduced. 2003 The site underwent a major redesign and reorganisation. 2005 26 May: myVirtualGallery is launched. 14 June: A new interface for browsing and searching the Collection is launched. 2006 E-commerce integrated into MySource CMS
