Working with communities across cultures
Anne Graham has been working with communities researching personal and cultural memory. The outcome of such research includes collaborating with communities to create permanent and ephemeral artworks that reflect on this research into people and places. In recent years Graham has been working regularly in Japan as a public artist and is just back from making installations in Korea. Working across cultures and languages presents additional challenges but also some surprising discoveries that can lead to significant new artworks and a surprising form of cross cultural communication.
